Description Photograph. Sepia-toned photo showing the construction of a caisson for a railroad bridge that is being built over the Rouge River. Printed text in the top center of the photo shows "Caisson #1" and additional printed text in the lower right corner shows "M.C.R.R. River Rouge Bascule; May 27, 1919." The view looks down on the top of the caisson and shows various pieces of equipment, piping, and scaffolding. Two workmen can be seen in the upper right corner of the photo.
