A female mannequin sits in a chair pulling freshly laundered clothing out of a Westinghouse washing machine. A child mannequin plays at her side on the Steel Floor. Advertisement for the flooring reads, "Crowley's The Steel Tile, Used in this Window, Was installed by the Basement Rug Department, Rust-proof, Fade-proof, Durable Colors, to Brighten Your Room, Come in for a Free Estimate." Signage in the foreground reads, "Wonders at Work, While you relax, Westinghouse Laundry Equipment, Mondays with be bright instead of blue, With These Wonderful Time-savers & Work-savers." Printed on the bottom of the photograph is the store name, slogan, location, photograph sequence number, and name of photographer, "Crowley's, 'The Friendly Store,' Detroit (26) Michigan, 22840-X, Davis B.
