Description Photograph. Sepia-toned photo showing the construction of a railroad bridge over the Rouge River. Printed text in the upper right corner of the photo shows the number, "38," and "M.C.R.R. River Rouge Bascule Bridge; Superstructure; Setting Derrick on Top of the Tower Span; Mar. 21, 1920; Photo W. B. James, Br. Inspt." The view looks northeastward and shows the tower posts and truss structures that support the bridge counterweights. A group of four workmen can be seen at the upper right top area of the structure. Part of a construction crane can be seen at the left side of the photo and factory buildings are visible in the distant background.
