Description Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display at J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. A large metal eagle stands with his wings spread in front of four American Flags, standing atop branches of laurel; a large banner is spread across the front of the display and reads, "3rd War Loan, $15,000,000,000." A proclamation, Western Union Telegram, and letters from the Treasury Department and the City of Detroit are affixed to the rear wall flanking the eagle and flags asking citizens about the 3rd War Loan and their contributions. Affixed to the bottom foreground of the window signage reads, "Buy U.S. War Savings Bonds, Immediate Delivery WAR BONDS, 11th Floor, Woodward, Section D." The date, photographic sequence number, and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "9-2-43; 18870-2x."
