Silent color 8mm film containing footage shot by and of Chester J. Selden of during several trips on airplanes between 1941 and 1958. Much of the footage was shot through the windows of airplanes, and includes aerial shots of Detroit's east side, Belle Isle, Lake Erie, the Mackinac Bridge, the Soo Locks. The footage also includes some video taken from ground level of Detroit City Airport, Cleveland Airport, Willow Run Airport, Windsor Airport, and around Amos, Quebec. In the first spot for "Belle Isle, Detroit's Island Paradise," a voice-over mention's the island park's attractions--the Belle Isle Nature Center, the Dossin Great Lakes Museum, the Belle Isle Aquarium, and the Safariland Zoo. Brief footage of each locale, plus people jogging, fishing, and playing golf are shown, taken from the b-roll tapes 2015.008.008 and 2015.008.009. The voice-over is initially performed over a static image of a red-on-beige title card with graphics of an airplane, and the Do It In Detroit logo, as well as the text, "Airfest '84, Detroit City Airport, July 7, 8, 1984." This is followed by a color illustration of a podium on a stage with blue carpet, blue curtains, and a tan wall visible where the curtains are pulled back in the center.
