Object Name Poster
Scope & Content Poster in black text on a white background for President Gerald R. Ford's Michigan Whistle Stop Tour. The top half of the poster features a print of a black and white photograph of President Ford and First Lady Betty Ford surrounded by text reading as follows:

"WELCOME MICHIGAN'S OWN
PRESIDENT
GERALD R. FORD
AND FIRST LADY BETTY FORD

SEE THE PRESIDENTIAL EXPRESS
ON IT'S MICHIGAN WHISTLE STOP TOUR
SATURDAY, MAY 15, 1976"

The bottom half of the poster features a line representing a railroad, which stops on the Whistle Stop Tour marked with stars. The stops are, from left to right: Niles, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Lansing, Durand, Flint. Text underneath the railroad reads as follows:

"The Presidential Express will stop at the rail passenger terminal in each city
Bring The Whole Family!
Bands! Entertainment!
The President will speak at each stop from the rear platform.
Everyone is invited! Free admission!"

A listing of the times and exact locations for each stop follows.

Text at the bottom of the poster reads "The President Ford Committee, Rogers C.B. Morton, Chairman, Robert C. Moot, Treasurer. A copy of our report is filed with the Federal Election Commission and is available for purchase from the Federal Election Commission, Washington, D.C. 20463."
